About the indigenous cacti - there are a few (maybe ten or so) that I know of but I don't have the names at hand. Right now I can think of Mammillaria columbiana, Consolea spinosissimma, Hylocereus ...
I'd have to look it up so that I don't provide incorrect information.
The challenges and joys of growing cacti and succulents - some of them are really slow and some of them don't make it but it's just amazing when they bloom - that's the reward.

I have a stapelia hirsuitia I think it is called, with darker, hairy flowers, very interesting. BTW what cacti are indiginous to Jamaica?
Thanks. chris
